Dragonslayers in association with the QUB Department of Research & Regional Services would like to invite all Dragonslayers members to an evening of games with special guest Dave Perry.

The event will be taking place on Thursday 30th November 2006, in the Whitla Hall (situated on the Queen’s University main campus) between the hours of 6pm and midnight. There will be plenty of fun to all to be had, with a variety of games including table-top games, console games, a mini PC LAN and our live action role-play event based on the cult kids’ TV show, Knightmare.

Places are limited, so if you would like to go, we would appreciate it if you could e-mail us or send me a private message on the forums before Saturday 25th November 2006.

Admission is free!

We regret that anyone under the age of 18 will not be permitted to attend this event.

About Knightmare

Knightmare was a fantasy adventure show, created by Tim Child, that aired from 1987 until 1994. It involved three advisors guiding their fourth friend around a virtual dungeon. With the assistance of the Dungeon Master, Treguard, they attempted to complete a quest for a symbolic object such as 'the cup that heals', or 'the sword of freedom'.

Being set in a virtual world, the game used Croma Key (blue screen) technology extensively. In order to maintain the illusion, dungeoneers were forced to wear a helmet that only permitted him or her to see things that were directly below them, such as objects on a table. The Dungeoneer had to navigate around the dungeon solving puzzles, riddles, navigating around traps and battling evildoers, such as the infamous Lord Fear.

The dungeons were unforgiving and claimed many victims. During the eight seasons of which the show aired, only eight teams managed to complete their quests.

Twelve years on, join Treguard once more as he guides dungeoneers once more on their quests, and against the dastardly Lord Fear. Brave the dungeon and glory may be yours. But beware ... Lord Fear and his minions have had much time to prepare and will not allow passage unchallenged!
