MeCon Nine, the annual QUB SciFi & Fantasy convention starts tomorrow, Friday 4th August. Hope to see you all there to enjoy the fun!

MeCon should open on Friday at approximately 7pm in the Elms Centre - if you get lost, just listen out for the bad Dalek impersonations! There will be the usual Friday Night quiz to get those little grey cells ticking over and hopefully build up a healthy thirst! Rounds will be the usual mix of Sci-Fi & Fantasy plus general pub-quiz rounds with added sci-fi flavouring.

Saturday will see a wealth of panels and talks going on, including the very informative and highly entertaining "Physics of SciFi Battles" talk by Dr Robert Ryans of Queen's University, and of course the Guest of Honour spot, with the one and only Ian McDonald!

On Sunday, we will be seeing in the day gently with our charity coffee morning, which will allow us all to recharge the batteries after the night before. Further entertainment will be provided by Eugene who will take us on a trip through the wierd and wonderful.
