Also were happy to announce that after a long absence and a trial weekend, Saturday Slayers has returned bringing with it the opportunity to play those games that just cant be managed in a few hours or just a place to enjoy your day off work, read on for more info.

Slayers24 All-nighter

Our 24 hour all-nighter or "Slayers24" as it is affectionately known will be held in the Snack Bar of the students union, the same room where Dragonslayers meets on a Tuesday night, it's open to everyone not just students or members of Dragonslayers so feel free to bring along a friend or two. The event will run from 12 noon on Saturday the 20th to 12 noon the Sunday.

We have limited number of spaces available for people to bring their own PC's and laptops with full networking facilities being provided at the event. If you’d like to take part in the LAN but don’t happen to have a PC or cant bring yours down, P.O.N.G will be bringing a number of their high end gaming machines for use at the event, numbers for there are extremely limited so be sure to get your name down early if you wish to reserve one.

We’ll also have all our regular console equipment and games available with the addition of a 16 player Halo 3 tournament to get stuck into. Even if PC or console gaming isn’t your thing there’s ample opportunity to run a day long RPG or perhaps play a 6 player game of Twilight Imperium, if you’ve ever wanted to play a really long game but haven’t had the time then our 24 hour event is an opportunity that cant be missed. At our last event a group of brave gamers ran an entire Dungeons & Dragons campaign over the course of 24 hours, an achievement accomplished through sheer force of will and gallons of coffee and energy drinks. There was also the curious game know only as “Killian Buckaroo”…We’ll also be showing classic films and some not so classic films with accompanying “Rifftrax” which can make even “Battlefield Earth” bearable.

Due to the lack of heating in the Snack Bar and being the season it is, we recommend that attendees bring some warm clothes and blankets, as due to power limits we cannot provide nor support any electric heating units. A tuck shop will be available for food and hot drinks as will the facilities in the Students Union itself until they close in the evening. The Students Union itself will be locked from 1am to 8am so during this time if you leave the building you wont be able to get back in.

Prices for the event are £5 normal, which includes access to all consoles and related events, £10 with your own PC (limited availability) and £15 for use of a P.O.N.G. PC (extremely limited availability). Saturday Slayers

We are happy to announce the return of Saturday Slayers to our schedule. Saturday Slayers is just like a regular Dragonslayers meeting except held on Saturdays from 10am to 6pm in the regular meeting place of the Students Union Snack Bar. Entry is free to all Dragonslayers members and all our regular equipment is available for use. Saturday Slayers provides a venue for gamers to enjoy their day’s off work or school and is an excellent opportunity for those who are unable to attend our meetings on Tuesday nights. Additionally special games and tournaments are run at Saturday Slayers so there’s no excuse to miss out.

The first official Saturday Slayers will be held this Saturday the 13th in the snack bar of the Students Union, we look foreword to seeing you there. Please note that when the all-nighters are on, Saturday Slayers will become Slayers24.
